CALL FOR PAPERS: 6th International Problem-based Learning (PBL) Symposium 2020 - Embrace Disruption, Rethink Learning

Technological developments such as Artificial Intelligence (AI) are dramatically changing the way we live, work and learn. Robots are now working alongside humans to do complex and intelligent work. Their disruptive power is increasingly felt in almost all sectors, prompting us to rethink current paradigms.

The 6th International Problem-Based Learning (PBL) Symposium 2020 critically examines the notion of ‘disruption’ and what that means for ‘learning’ in our world. This is a meeting of a community of professionals, including teachers, academics, trainers, practitioners, industry partners and policy makers to network and exchange ideas.

By embracing disruption, we innovate how learning takes place, transform the future of the workplace, and create fulfilling lives.


The paper should be based on one of the following topics:

      1. Students’ learning experience
      2. Future skills and competencies
      3. Continuing education, workplace and lifelong learning
      4. Curriculum, instruction and evaluation
      5. Assessment and feedback
      6. Digital learning and analytics
      7. Innovation and change management
      8. Professional development of educators
      9. Industry-institution collaboration
      10. Social change and sustainability

Format of Paper Presentation

      • Seminar [30 minutes] (Abstract 1000-1500 words)
      • Roundtable Discussion [60 minutes] (Abstract max. 350 words)
      • Workshops [90 minutes] (Abstract max. 350 words)
